Our Excel exercises are divided into five sections.
The exercises in the Basic Spreadsheet Concepts area, will test your ability to reproduce a spreadsheet that someone else has designed. You are shown or given a spreadsheet and asked to reproduce its appearance and functionality. To do these exercises you will need to be familiar with features like Entering text into a spreadsheet, Entering numbers into a spreadsheet, Bold, Italics, Underline, Merge Centre, simple Formula's, etc.
The exercises in the Intermediate Spreadsheet Concepts area, will test your ability to read a problem and create a spreadsheet to solve that problem. To do these exercises you will need to have all the skills used in completing the Basic Spreadsheet Concepts exercises, plus an understanding of Linking, complex Formula's (not Functions) like percentages, G.S.T (or V.A.T), etc
The exercises in the Basic Chart Creation area, will test your ability to take a spreadsheet and create a Chart from the picture supplied, i.e. you are shown what the final Chart should look like and asked to reproduce it. You will need to be familiar with how to create Charts in Excel to complete these exercises.
The exercises in the Advanced Chart Creation area, will test your ability to create one or more charts using a specified spreadsheet. You will be given a problem to solve by drawing or creating a Chart that meets the requirements of that problem.
The exercises in the Advanced Spreadsheet Concepts area, will test your ability to create large spreadsheets to solve given problems. You will need to be familiar with Excel's Functions, how to set up a Database in Excel, Pivot Tables, etc.
